After years of watching professional tour guides be exploited and underpaid. We decided to do something about it, so we started Blueberry Tours to offer better tour guide jobs for both Ghost Tours and Historical tours.
We're not the same as other tour companies in Charleston. We're a Co-Op. While we do have a corporate structure (You have to in order to do business in Charleston) The company is run by the tour guides. The tour guides decide if you'll make the team. The tour guides decide if you stay on the team, and it's the tour guides that control the quality of the tours.
We do a lot of research, spend a lot of time learning our craft. This history we teach is factual, and our Ghost Stories are both based in fact, and developed just for our guides.
...and we pay twice the going rate for tour-guide jobs ($100 no mater how many guests), we reward 5-Star reviews, and we use technology to make sure you recover the tips you deserve.
It's not easy, but nothing worth having ever is. We will give you the tools you need to become sucsessful, and help every step of the way - but you have to do the work. Once you feel like you are ready. You'll have to "Audition" for the other guides by taking them on a tour. If they feel you're ready, and only then, will you be offered a spot on the crew.
